MJ Lindo and Joshua Lawyer are a husband-and-wife artistic duo based in the Bay Area, each bringing a unique vision to their work. MJ, a self-taught painter, creates whimsical and beautifully dark worlds filled with rich skin tones, creamy pastels, and imaginative storytelling. Her work explores the experiences of multicultural women, often accompanied by animal figures that evoke emotion and celebration. Joshua, influenced by graffiti and fine art, uses female figures and symbolism to craft narratives centered around “Finding Home” and “Getting Lost.” His work reflects his journey from a challenging upbringing to discovering art as both an escape and a sacred practice. Together, they share a home filled with love, creativity, and their beloved pets, Mellow and Garbage.
